Je m'appelle...

The Grade 3/4 class has been learning and practicing some personal identification phrases which we will continue to work on this coming week. Here is a sampling of some work from our titlepages:

Our Grade 5/6 class has been learning vocabulary associated with pastimes; we will soon be getting ready to start a project about our after-school activities.  The 7/8 students have been reviewing classroom vocabulary and personal identification structures which will be useful in our first project for our unit, "Memo-photos".

A very productive week!

The Gr. 7/8 class has been discussing events and activities of this summer using the passé composé:

We will display this art soon on the French bulletin board. Bravo, Gr. 7/8 students! We have also been reviewing expressions so that we can function en français in the classroom.

Gr. 5/6 students have been making birthday cards for students having early September birthdays and we have been talking and drawing about the things we like. Gr. 4/5 students have gone over the alphabet and have been practicing numbers up to 100. We have also been working on introducing ourselves in French.

In all classes we have begun using the PAX game. It has been a very productive first full week at school!

À lundi!

Youppi! C'est la rentrée!

Bienvenue! Welcome to our new students and welcome back, all students!  I am looking forward to helping you get ready for the adventure of learning French! This week we brainstormed ways that learning French or any language can take us on an adventure for a lifetime! Learning a new language can help us:
  • meet more friends
  • go more places
  • read more books
  • have more opportunities for jobs as an adult

These were a few ideas we brainstormed.I hope you will all love learning French. I'm excited to be your French teacher and I look forward to learning together, working hard and having fun!

Bonne fin de semaine,
Mme Christensen
