Dear students, parents and all staff at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School,
I'd like to thank you all for the privilege of serving and working with you these past six years. It has been a wonderful blessing; I thank my Savior Jesus Christ for all the work He has done in and through us all here at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School. Great is His Faithfulness!
The French program will be in the very capable hands of Mme Medeiros this fall; we welcome her!
I'd like to wish you all a wonderful, restful and memorable summer vacation as well as God's blessings in the next school year. As I move towards what God has for me, I will be remembering you with fond thoughts and in my prayers. May Jesus bless and keep you,
Mme Christensen

A scrumptious end to our year
This week our students in 7/8 were away at camp and at shops; we did have one class on Thursday and we prepared some frogs for "Frog Follies"--origami ones! The 5/6 class finished their frogs this week and we had a few competitions for the frog with the longest jump and with the most acrobatic jump. The Gr. 3/4 students are almost finished making their frogs.
Students in Grade 3/4 finished their sandwich unit on Friday as well as the 5/6 class who finished their breakfast unit. Thank you to all the families who contributed generously to the sandwich and breakfast buffets below. As you can see, it was good to the last bite!
The grade 3/4 class enjoyed salami, maple breakfast sausage, jam, marmalade, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes, butter, cheese, an assortment of chips and LOTS of bacon in their sandwiches! There was very little left over.
As you can see, in both classes students were very adventurous and experimented with many combinations of flavours and almost without exception, ate their experiments with gusto!
Next week will be a very busy one with special activities for the year's end and we look forward to all the fun!
Bonne fin de semaine,

Crêpes are also beautiful!
The past two posts have been entitled, "Sandwiches are Beautiful"; mais oui, but so are the crêpes designed by our Gr. 7/8 students! Here are some of their original recipes:
We are spending this week making classroom birthday cards for grade 7/8 and 3/4 students that have birthdays in July and August. In Grade 5/6 we are reviewing our learning this past year through games and other activities. Time is going by very quickly!

Sandwiches are beautiful! Part One
Feast your eyes on these lovely sandwiches--perfect for picnics this time of year! These delectable creations come "prepared" by our creative chefs in Gr. 3/4:
I will be posting the rest of the 3/4 projects next week. We will be practicing reading and presenting our work this week and next. We will be using these for a restaurant menu board, coming to a bulletin board near you : )
Our Gr. 5/6 students are in the process of finishing the writing of their "skip the dishes" telephone skits which involve ordering crêpes from a restaurant. They have been doing an excellent job!
Our Gr. 7/8 students are finishing writing original crêpe recipes which will be compiled in a class recipe book.
Bon appétit!

The visit to Le Croissant with our second group of Gr. 7/8 students was just as wonderful as our first! A picture is worth a thousand words; here are a few photos that capture our enjoyment:
