We come back to a short week spent in review of the work prior to Christmas break. Grade 4/5 students have been describing animals and beginning to read a comic strip based on the "Tortoise and the Hare".
Grade 5/6 students are continuing to read this comic strip aloud and look for certain words such as "mots amis" and "faux amis". Grades 7/8 students received back their tests on crêpe recipe directions and reviewed verbs in the imperative.
Now that we're back from break, it's time to get back to thinking and speaking in French! Here are some of the common phrases we use in French class for real-life situations.
To use the washroom:
"Est-ce que je peux aller à la toilette, s'il vous plaît?"
To go get a drink of water:
"Est-ce que je peux aller boire de l'eau, s'il vous plaît?"
To borrow a pencil:
"Est-ce que je peux emprunter un crayon, s'il vous plaît?"
To have a sheet of paper:
"Est-ce que je peux avoir une feuille de papier, s'il vous plaît?"
Finally, what to say if you simply don't know:
"Madame, je ne sais pas!"
