More Mona Lisa

This week the Gr. 3/4 students who did not have an opportunity to play the role of Mona Lisa in French class did so!  Here is a sample of the types of conversations students would have in this role, using the structures learned in class this term:

And some still photos of students who have done similar work:

This past week in Gr. 5/6 and 7/8, we have been reviewing material that will be presented at student-led conferences. In all classes, we have begun learning or reviewing vocabulary for our new units in the second term.

Bravo, mes élèves et bonne fin de semaine!

Mona Lisa

Since the past couple weeks have seen us focusing on our projects and written work, it was time to get back to some oral work and fun in a different capacity; specifically, as a very famous subject of art! Some of us got into character as we answered the following questions:

  • Comment t'appelles-tu? (What is your name?)
  • Comment ça va? (How are you?) Pourquoi? (Why?)
  • Quel âge as-tu? (How old are you?)
  • Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire? (What is your birthday?)
  • En quelle année es-tu?
  • Est-ce que tu aimes l'automne? (Do you like fall?)
We hope to finish interviewing the rest of the class next week!

Bonne fin de semaine!
Mme Christensen

C'est le Jour du Souvenir

We stop to honour those who fought and sacrificed all on our behalf so that we could live the blessed lives we have today.

Veterans Affairs Canada has a website in French and in English that is an excellent source of information that helps us honour the sacrifices our veterans have made:

Bonne fin de semaine,

Chatterpix, from Grades 3 and 4!

Well done, Grade 3 and 4 students! Here are the Chatterpix videos we put together today. We hope to have two more videos added to this next week when our students who were absent today come back.
Please note that the longer videos have been done by our Gr. 4 students.

Bravo, mes élèves!

The Grade 5/6 and 7/8 students are all working hard on their avatar projects. Their work is scaffolded according to their grade level; we look forward to seeing the finished results soon!

Bonne fin de semaine,
Mme Christensen
